FIRST POST!!
Hello all this is my very first blog post you may reply to it I believe. I’m trying to work all the kinks out with this and the message board so it would help me out if you could post something here or on the message board and if there are any problems with it send me an email so we can work it out. I thought this would be a good way to keep you all updated on the happenings of my life and art. When I look at artists work I like to know a little about them and it helps me to understand their work a little better. 2005 was an exciting year for me. A lot of changes took place including closing my imports store to do my art full time, buying my first home, 2 of my brothers (my best friends in the whole world) moved to Florida, and re connecting mith my love that I dated 12 years ago. We hadn’t seen each other for 6 LONG years. He came up for a visit and never left!!! and I MARRIED him this past October. I’ll test out posting photos on here - I’ll post some of the wedding photos. The wedding was incredible. I’m sure everyone says that but really especially in Vermont you never know what the weather will be like and let me tell you it was BEAUTIFUL!! October 1st 2005 and in the fall in Vermont it can snow. It was like 70 degrees no wind and we tied the knot outside with the mountains as the backdrop. All of our family and friends flew in and spent the weekend at this quaint little ski chalet. My other special man 5 year old son Kaleb was the ring man. I think he was just as excited as I was. The lucky little guy now has 2 special men in his life his daddy and his Drew. Oh that’s my husband’s name. Drew Stone he is an eccentric independant film maker. For the past 5 years he’s been doing extreme motorcycle stunt dvd’s. You wouldn’t believe the tricks these guys do. You can see some of the footage on his site www.stonefilmsnyc.com . He has just completed a segment in the film he is doing of my art. It will be up on the site soon. I’m shooting for the end of the week!! I’ll explain more about it when it’s up but he made 2 versions. Basically the same footage but one is a dreamy slow song by Mazzy Star and the other is a rap song from our friend Garth Vader from Humboltd county CA. Drew and I travel a lot his work brings us all over and whenever possible I bring my work with me on the road. I always have!! and it’s why I always put the state where the piece was made next to my signature. My favorite place to do art is on the road. I set up our hotel room, bus, car, train and get to work. I will explain more about that after the film is posted. You will see me working in a hotel room and in the middle of the caos at one of the stunt shows. Well this was fun- I’ll try to post a few times a week if possible. I’m not the best at managing my time so this will be a challenge in organization -which in my life is desperately needed. Drew and I run 3 businessses out of our home my art, his film making and together we do the imports biz. So if I don’t make it on here I’m just swamped with work! I do answer each and every email though so don’t be shy! Shoot -can’t seem to find a spell check on here-
